WELCOME TO TURKEY POINT SIGN STOLEN

Police are investigating after the "Welcome to Turkey Point" sign was stolen. OPP investigators believe it happened sometime between Saturday and Monday when unknown suspects damaged and removed the sign on Turkey Point Road. The theft is estimated at around $1,500.

OPP RESPOND TO 52 COLLISIONS IN JANUARY: GETTING SET FOR TWO-DAY BLITZ

The Norfolk OPP is gearing up for another two-day blitz which will see them target drivers who place others at risk through poor driving behaviors. Police officers responded to 52 collisions last month: the lowest number in the last 5-years.

MUSIC EQUIPMENT STOLEN FROM JARVIS HOME

The Haldimand OPP is investigating after thousands of dollars worth of electronics and music equipment were stolen from a home on Main Street in Jarvis. It happened sometime on Wednesday when thieves gained access through an unlocked door. The theft is valued at approximately $5,000.

The Little Cheesecake Company has been making Norfolk residents sweet tooth itch for some time now but only on a part-time basis. The main reason being they don't have a permanent kitchen available to use making it impossible to have full-time service.

FATE OF NORFOLK INN NOW IN QUESTION

It appears the dream of transforming the former Norfolk Inn into a new hotel establishment has been squashed. Last week, we told you how a Mississauga mortgage broker put in an offer to purchase the run-down building after the property was listed for sale due to unpaid taxes.

CARR SHARES MAJOR AWARD WITH LIBRARY

Another award for Annaleise Carr. The world record holder and long distance swimmer was crowned with an Ontario Silver Birch Award for a book she helped write, along with local author Deborah Ellis. The award will be on display at the Norfolk County Public Library in Simcoe.
