Norfolk OPP is investigating an incident of mischief at Caressant Care Nursing Home. They say between Tuesday (May 19) and Thursday (May 21) of this past week, some unknown suspects caused damage to the sanitation system.

WANTED FEDERAL OFFENDER KNOWN TO FREQUENT HALDIMAND COUNTY

A federal offender is wanted for breaching parole and is known to frequent Six Nations Reserve, Haldimand County. The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad is requesting the public's assistance in locating 24-year-old Robert Ryan.

TRUCK SLAMS INTO HYDRO POLE: EXPECT ROAD CLOSURES ON PARTS ON THE BLUE LINE ROAD

Police say parts Blue Line Road between Concession 10 and 11 will be closed for several hours after a pickup truck slammed into a hydro pole. But Const. Ed Sanchuk says they will keep one lane open as they continue to investigate the crash.

UNIONIZED STAFF AT CAREPARTNERS HEADING BACK TO THE NEGOTIATING TABLE

After weeks of standing out on the picket lines, unionized staff at CarePartners in Simcoe are headed back to the negotiating table. About a dozen or so nurses have been informed by their president that talks will resume on May 30th.

ANNALEISE CARR AQATICS CENTRE SHUT DOWN DUE TO MAINTENANCE

The pool at the Annaleise Carr Aqatics Centre will be closed today due to maintenance and upgrades to the HVAC system. Norfolk County officials say it will remain closed until Saturday. According to a report, work is being done to improve air flow in the pool area.

A FARMERS NIGHTMARE: FROST IN THE FORECAST...AGAIN

For the second time in as many weeks, Environment Canada is warning that Norfolk County may get hit with frost. The weather agency says the temperature will drop to zero and they're certain it will bring patchy frost by Saturday morning.

RADICAL ROAD, YOU ARE THE WORST!

Out of all the streets and roads in the entire province, Radical Road placed sixth on CAA's Top 10 Worst Roads campaign. Only roads in Timmins, Toronto, Sudbury and Ottawa were voted slightly higher.

NEW BRIDGE COMING JUST SOUTH OF HARTFORD

Council gave the green light for a new bridge to be installed along County Line Road 74 just south of Hartford. The cost of the project is just under a million bucks with Haldimand County taking half of those costs. Construction will go ahead in July and end by October.

THE NORFOLK ARTS CENTRE RECEIVES BIG GRANT FROM THE FEDERAL CONSERVATIVES

Those working at the Norfolk Arts Centre have 10-thousand reasons to smile. Diane Finley and the Harper Government presented Art Centre officials with a $10-thousand dollar cheque on Thursday to expand its storage facilities for its permanent art collection.
