Norfolk County is getting closer to becoming a wine region. The Ontario South Coast Wineries and Growers Association plan on submitting an application to get the official status by this fall.

OPERATION DRY WATER NOW UNDERWAY

The Norfolk OPP is urging boaters to stay sober during the upcoming long weekend. The O-P-P and other forces are teaming up for Operation Dry Water -- a national campaign to reduce the number of deaths and injuries caused by impaired operation of boats and other watercraft.

TOXIC ALGAE BLOOMS ARE DECREASING IN LAKE ERIE

Residents along Lake Erie can expect more algae blooms this summer, but they won't be nearly as bad as last year. That's the word from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, who add this year's blooms in the western part of the lake are just beginning to appear.

A 77-year old man will have his day in court after a senior citizen allegedly engaged in an indecent act inside of a McDonalds in Caledonia. The Haldimand OPP were called to the incident shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday.

SALE OF THE PORT DOVER MEDICAL CENTRE HITS A ROAD BLOCK

Norfolk County Council is on summer break, but they held a special meeting on Tuesday regarding selling the current Port Dover Medical Centre. In closed session, they discussed selling the facility to one of three bidders but despite getting what they wanted -- there was a snag.
