CONSERVATION OFFICERS WILL KEEP EYE ON HUNTERS AS SPRING TURKEY HUNT OPENS TOMORROW

The Ontario Conservation Officers Association is reminding hunters in Norfolk to act responsibly when the spring turkey hunt opens tomorrow. The association says conservation officers will be actively enforcing the law to ensure that the sport of turkey hunting continues to be safe.

$20,000 FACELIFT COMING TO CROSSWALK AT ROBINSON STREET

The county has agreed to replace the crosswalk at Robinson Street in Simcoe at a cost of $20,000. Council felt compelled to do something after the deputation from Debbie Pike on behalf of the Norfolk County Accessibility Advisory Committee.

NORFOLK WOMAN DUPED OUT OF $4,000 WITH THE BANK MANAGERS SCAM

A woman from Norfolk is out $4,000 after falling victim to what is known as the Bank Managers Scam. Police say the woman got a call from an unknown man around 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon claiming to be a banking manager from her bank.

Police have released a photo of the suspect in a botched theft attempt at the Norfolk General Hospital. According to police a man tried to take the cash out of the register at the NGH cafeteria on Saturday night.

DONATION BOX STOLEN FROM LEN'S MILL STORE IN PORT DOVER

Police are investigating after a donation box was stolen from Len's Mill Store in Port Dover. According to police the theft happened early Wednesday morning at the store on St. George Street in Port Dover.

DECOY COYOTES TAKEN FROM THE PORT DOVER MARINA

A number of coyote decoys have been stolen from the Port Rowan Marina. Police say 6 cardboard cutouts and 1 rubber coyote were taken on Sunday morning. The decoys were nabbed from the grassy area west of the marina. The total value of the theft is estimated at about $300.

SPRING HUNTING SEASON OPENS FOR WILD TURKEY THIS FRIDAY

The Norfolk OPP is reminding the public that more hunters are likely to be seen on Friday when spring hunting season opens for wild turkey. Police say hunters should get permission before entering someone else's property in order to hunt turkeys or any animal.
