An individual has been charged following an investigation into an incident involving Delhi District Secondary School.
Just after midnight yesterday (April 24th), the Norfolk OPP investigated an incident involving Delhi District Secondary School on James Street in Delhi.
It was determined that a short time earlier, a group of individuals had a conversation using electronic means, during which one of them threatened to cause harm to the school and individuals within the school community.
With assistance from the Niagara Regional Police Service, the individual of interest was located in Welland and was taken into custody without incident.
An 18-year-old Norfolk county man was charged with the alleged offence of uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm.
The accused was detained in custody and is scheduled to appear at a bail hearing.
At this time, there is believed to be no threat to public safety.
