A Waterford Woman is making waves in the book world.
Emma Hogg released a book titled “Winona Rising” in March, and it’s now a finalist for the Whistler Independent Book Awards.
Hogg grew up in Waterford and noted that most of the books she writes revolve around the years she spent in the community, pulling some inspiration from her experiences.
She was previously shortlisted for her last novel “The Fourth Wall” but it did not reach the finalist stage.
Winona Rising is about a 15-year-old girl trying to find her place in a new town while discovering more about herself as well.
Her book can be purchased on Amazon, her website emmahogg.com, the Waterford Old Town Hall’s gift shop, and available to take out the Norfolk County Public Library.
