When Jean Montgomery was inducted into Norfolk’s Sports Hall of Recognition in 2015, she was described as ‘the ultimate community volunteer.
Now Montgomery wants to bring her extensive community service to the residents in the Waterford region otherwise known as Ward 7.
Montgomery, who is also known as Miss Basketball, says Norfolk needs a vision for the future, which includes planning around both our younger and older generations.
The 64-year old believes a new council needs to take a good hard look at our downtowns and how they could be improved.
Instead of making promises, Montgomery says she wants to work for the people and voice their concerns at Townhall.
Montgomery has sat on multiple boards in both Haldimand and Norfolk, is an advocate for mental health and social services, and is a long time coach and referee of minor basketball.
Last summer, Montgomery was one of 150 Canadians who received a Molson-Coors custom-made retro-style refrigerator for her volunteerism and community services over the years.
