If you are between the ages of 18 to 29 and want to quit smoking — you may get a paycheque for doing so.
It’s part of an initiative known as WouldURather. It is a 6-week contest with the goal of reducing the high rates of smoking among young adults.
Those who enter have a chance to win two grand prizes of $2500.
Public Health Nurse Debra Vine says there are four different categories people can enter, each with their own cash prizes to be won.
Last year, more than 8,500 young adults entered the WouldURathe Contest with research suggesting that up to 20% of individuals who enter will quit smoking.
Registration is open online up until January 27th and runs from January 28th to March 10th.
