Someone in the County is about to receive a significant fine from the police today.
On Monday, someone found a dog left in a scorching hot vehicle on West Street in Simcoe.
The eyewitness called 9-1-1 and provide officers with the vehicle make and license plate number,
According to a Norfolk County by-law, any animal that’s left alone in a car will get a $490 fine.
If the animal suffered any injury, police say the owner could get a five-year prison sentence.
Police say the warnings are done — people should know better not to leave an animal in a hot car.
They will be following up with the owner today.
