Things got a little bit wild and crazy in Long Point on Monday. Police have charged two men after a heated argument ended with guns drawn on Hastings Drive. After investigating, the OPP have charged 25-year old Kyle James Ferris with pointing a firearm, mischief under $5,000 and assault with a weapon and assault. 51-year old Ronald Harvey Ferris is facing assault with a weapon charge. Both will appear in court at a later date.
A large quantity of cocaine is now off our streets. The Haldimand Norfolk Street Crime Unit pulled over a vehicle Monday night on Talbot Street South and discovered a large amount of the illicit drug. As a result, police have charged 23-year-old Robert Vanevery of Brantford with possession for the purpose of trafficking Cocaine and two counts of failing to comply with recognizance.
For a while now, the OPP have sounded the alarm that people are driving too fast on our roadways and are putting others at extreme risk. On Monday night, police clocked a vehicle traveling over 160 km per hour in a 60 zone. 25-year old Jacob PETERS was charged with driving over the legal limit and racing a motor vehicle. The charge automatically comes with a 2-thousand dollar fine. His vehicle will also be impounded for a week.
A report of a missing 15-year-old leads to that same teen facing mischief charges. Police say in the early morning hours on Tuesday they were contacted by a concerned parent saying that their missing son was back home. When police came to speak with the family, they discovered that, before police arriving, the teen had damaged a car. Officer charged with the teen with mischief.
