Officials with Norfolk’s Fire Department are asking parents and children to be safe this Halloween. For mom, dads, and caregivers, Norfolk’s Fire Prevention Officer Michael Atkins says they need to be extra careful when setting up decorations.
Atkins is asking people to consider using other options like glow sticks, outdoor lighting, or flashlights to avoid the risk of a fire. Meanwhile, Atkins says children need to look both ways before crossing a street. He says the chance of a kid getting hit by a car doubles on Halloween.
