A Norfolk County resident is out $100,000 after falling for a romance scam.
The Norfolk OPP say the victim started an online relationship over the internet with a man they met on social media.
During their online romance, the man asked for money several times as different “emergencies” occurred.
Between March and May 29th, the victim had transferred over $100,000.
Officers say people should never send money, or give credit card or online account details to anyone you do not know and trust.
A request to send money to a person in a foreign country that you have never personally met should be a red flag as well.
