Another crazy weekend on Norfolk County roads.
It started just after midnight on Saturday when a driver failed to negotiate the curve on Cedar Street and left the roadway colliding with a guardrail causing extensive damage.
The driver was assisted by Good Samaritans who came to his aid however he fled on foot prior to police arriving.
Officers patrolling the area located the male and subsequently took him into custody without incident.
A 29-year-old Hamilton man is now facing impaired driving charges.
Fast forward to a little past 10 a.m. on the same road.
Officers say a vehicle traveling south on Queen Street failed to stop at a red light and collided with another vehicle heading east on Cedar Street.
A third vehicle also sustained minor damage.
No serious injuries were reported.
A 17-year-old Norfolk County female was charged for going through a red light.
Then around 6:30 p.m. officers responded to Norfolk County Road 45 in Houghton after a pickup truck proceeded into the intersection of 2nd Concession Road and collided with another vehicle.
A 20-year-old man from Bayham was charged with failing to yield to traffic.
Finally, on Sunday, police were called out to investigate a vehicle who was showing odd driving behaviours on McDowell Road in Charlotteville.
An officer patrolling the area located the vehicle and had to take evasive action to avoid a head-on collision as the driver crossed over the centre line and entered the westbound lane.
The vehicle was stopped with the assistance of other officers, and the driver was taken into custody without incident
The 22-year-old man from Norfolk County was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, driving a vehicle with Cannabis readily available, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and possession of Xanax.
All will appear in court on a later date.
