A local, long-distance swimmer is getting set to take part in an annual charity event that has participants swim across the Northumberland Strait in Prince Edward Island.
The Big Swim is put on by Give to Live; It’s a fundraiser for the Brigadoon Children’s Camp Society in Nova Scotia.
More than 50 athletes will swim from New Brunswick to Prince Edward Island.
Josh Ried says he wanted to participate in the event because the Camp is similar to that of Camp Trillium in Waterford.
The Big Swim takes place on August 12th.
The Brigadoon Childrens Camp Society helps better the lives of children, youth, and families living with a chronic illness, chronic condition or special needs in Atlantic Canada.
