Norfolk County CAO David Cribbs shed some positive news regarding funding for a new multi-use recreational center in Simcoe.
He attended the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) conference and met with several cabinets and senior government officials.
Cribbs reported at Townhall on Tuesday that the Doug Ford government spoke about HUB centers and the good they can do for small communities.
Mayor Charlie Luke also announced that money for a new multi-use recreational center is up for grabs.
He said roughly $750 million had been made available province-wide — the federal government would fund 40 percent, 33 percent from the province and 27-year percent would come from our municipality.
Norfolk County Council will update the public on the so-called Norplex project next month.
