There’s something new coming to Saturday’s light up of the Simcoe Christmas Panorama. The Panorama’s John Davies tells myFM they are bringing out nursery rhymes for the children in a very unique way.
0ver 300-thousand lights and nearly 70 themed displays will be showcased in Wellington Park this year. We can also tell you that about 50 homes have signed up for this year’s Lights of the County Tour.
Meanwhile, Saturday’s light up will be extra special this year. Not only will it mark the Panorama’s 60th anniversary — a local hero will get to flick the switch. 11-year Olivia Hazen earned this year’s honours.
Hazen has been battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia since 2014. Her cancer recently returned and to help save her life she will receive treatment for six to eight weeks at a children’s hospital in Philadelphia. After that Olivia will return to McMaster in Hamilton for a lumbar puncture and more chemo.
The official light up of the 60th annual Simcoe Christmas Panorama takes place Saturday night at 6-pm.
