The Norfolk OPP is sounding the alarm over the way some people are using the 9-1-1 service.
Over the last few weeks, people have called 9-1-1 for inquiries about road conditions and animal control service.
OPP Const. Ed Sanchuk says that cannot happen.
Pocket dialing 9-1-1 is also a big problem locally. As of September, police have dealt with 14-hundred of them.
Those pocket dials cost Norfolk’s taxpayers nearly $300 whenever it happens.
