Norfolk and Haldimand are pushing out soybeans. Great Lakes Grain cooperative estimates that locally we will produce about 56.8 bushels per acre, just under Chatham-Kent who is looking at 58.6 bushels per acre.
This puts us above the overall average of 53.7.
When it comes to corn, Norfolk and Haldimand did not fare as well with the estimates showing that we produce around 170 bushels per aces which is under the average 182.
Huron County reigned at the corn kind with an estimated yield of 198.8 bushels per acre.
The estimations are based on a tour throughout the province earlier this month.
