The Grand Erie District School Board is saying that they are committed to providing a learning environment that goes along with the world that we live in.
The Ministry of Education has said that they will be asking teachers to revert back to the 1998 health and physical education curriculum when teaching the sexual education component.
The School Board said in a statement that they would continue to stay committed to equity and inclusion of all students and staff as outlined their 2016 multi-year plan.
Director of Education Brenda Blancher says that the growth of technology since 1998 is concerning.
Blancher stressed the fact that the sexual health section is only one component of the health curriculum.
The School Board has received no direct information from the Ministry of Education on precisely what the curriculum will look like.
