It was a pretty standard process; Haldimand-Norfolk M-P Diane Finley submitted a petition in Ottawa that was sent to her by a local Reverend.
It got rejected.
The reason was because the Reverend enlarged the paper to help people read it better.
Finley was not impressed it got denied in Ottawa for that reason.
Finley wants to see this rule changed to focus on the message behind the petition and not the proper paper size.
So she went around to her fellow MPs.
Finley is hoping that things will change and they’ll be able to accommodate people who need a more substantial paper to read.
