Landlords are back on the firing range with Norfolk County Council.
Councillor Noel Haydt will put forward a notice of motion looking at unpaid water and water waster bills in Norfolk.
Last year, our elected officials heard that the county typically sees $100,000 in unpaid bills annually with most of these cases involving tenants who rent property.
One of the recommendations at the time was to pass any unpaid bill to the landlord, though this was ultimately shot down.
Time has gone by and Haydt feels it’s time that council regroup and look at this issue once again.
Haydt’s notice of motion will be approved Tuesday with an official motion brought to the table in two weeks time.
Haydt’s biggest concern is that all these unpaid bills fall onto the taxpayer to pick up the slack.
