Roll up your sleeves; it’s time to give the gift of life. There’s a blood donor clinic today from 2 until 7 p.m. at the Legion on West Street in Simcoe. They’re looking for all blood types; however, they need more Type O blood donors. According to Canadian Blood Services, when seconds count, and there’s no time to check blood type, patients receive O-negative blood. Territory Manager Tammy Maroudas says they need more blood donors to carry them through the winter months, especially now with many people traveling around for the holidays.
Maroudas says they are hoping they get 40 walk-ins today to meet the base level needed. Several other clinics around the county take place next month.
