Port Dover has a new District Fire Chief.
Bill Howden will officially take over the position on November 1st.
Howden has served for more than 30-years as a volunteer firefighter and has filled in as Acting Fire Chief at the station numerous times.
The position was previously held by Gary Spragg who was let go by the County a few months ago.
The controversy surrounding the firing made waves throughout the lakeside town and beyond following a leaked email which was accidentally sent to all of Norfolk County staff.
Though it was retracted only a few minutes later, someone within the county printed off the document which discussed Spragg’s firing and sent it out to the media.
