“Day of the Dead” is coming to Norfolk County.
On September 14th, some roads in downtown Simcoe will shut down for a Caribbean Carnival.
It’s to celebrate the many migrant workers who make Norfolk County their home away from home year after year.
We spoke with Founder Tanya Van Rooy about the importance of celebrating offshore employees.
This Friday and next, if you head down to Amiga’s in Downtown Simcoe, you’ll see the Migrant Talent Competitions underway.
The first one was held last Friday, with the top three from each night performing at the Carnival for bragging rights of being voted the best by the big crowd.
They’ll have a spot for people to pin up pictures of their deceased loved ones that they want to bring along with them to the party.
There will also be multiple food trucks serving up the flavors Trinidad, Jamaica, and Mexico.
