REGISTRATION FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2018 RECREATION PROGRAMS OPENS MAY 15
HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON – Registration for Haldimand County’s spring and summer recreation programs opens May 15. This year, the County is offering a number of programs for all ages including hands-on museum workshops, summer camps, swimming lessons and public swims. A full schedule of offerings is available in the Spring/Summer Community Guide and via the County’s online registration portal at link.haldimandcounty.on.ca.
Haldimand County will once again be hosting its popular weekly camps for kids. Camp HaldiFUN, Camp Sports of all Sorts, Camp Centre Stage and FUNtastic Wednesdays all offer unique, themed experiences and activities with interactive play, skill-building and outdoor fun. New for 2018 is Camp Creative Campers, where children will be encouraged to unleash their imagination through a variety of visual art projects. Camps are held in Caledonia, Cayuga, Dunnville and Hagersville with before and after care, as well as ‘one-day-only’ attendance options available.
A Leadership Initiative program is also being offered for youth aged 11 and over. With sessions on communication, teamwork, professionalism and goal setting, this unique program will challenge participants to develop long-lasting leadership qualities. Participants will also earn Babysitting and Emergency First Aid (with CPR B) certifications and practice their newfound skills and knowledge at local HaldiFUN camps.
Spring/Summer 2018 museum programming includes insect, archaeology and other uniquely-themed children’s workshops, mad science shows, an adult murder mystery night, historical talks, a Grand River musical cruise and much more. The 2018 aquatics program schedule features a variety of learn to swim and life saving certification programs, as well as public and fitness swim opportunities.
Program registration may be completed online or in-person at any County office. Further details about Haldimand County recreation programs can be found in the Community Guide, available online and hard copy at all County offices.
