With Friday the 13th just days away, Norfolk County is once again taking time to urge bikers to please stay home this year.
Medical Officer of Health Doctor Shanker Nesathurai says with the county now in the yellow protect stage, it’s more important than ever to reduce any risk of spreading the virus.
Communication Director Matt Terry echoed this sentiment, saying that in the future they will once again welcome bikers with open arms but this Friday, it is best if they simply don’t come out.
Friday the 13th is not a formal event and can’t be “cancelled” by the County, however a number of steps have been taken to discourage visitors such as denying permits for vendors on both County and private property.
Council will also consider other measures, such as temporarily reducing parking in the town, at a council-in-committee meeting scheduled for tonight.
