Norfolk County will be weighing its options instead of just giving back the land that was purchased for the ALL Norfolk Community Hub.
Back in October, Norfolk County purchased a 24-acre property on Ireland Road and Decou Road in Simcoe.
The price tag for the land was around $3.2 million with a buyback clause.
This means Norfolk County can return the land back to the owners, within a certain time period, and the full amount of money will be returned to the county minus the land transfer tax.
Last month, the county announced that the upper government will not be moving forward with Norfolk’s Hub application.
CAO Jason Burgess addressed the buyback clause during Tuesday night’s council meeting, saying that a staff report will be going before council in the near future with options on what our elected officials can do with the land.
He did say in an email that giving the land back to the original owners is one of those options council can choose.
There is no set time as to when this will be going before our elected officials.
