The 20th annual Sawaya Garden Trials plant sale is this weekend.
Lara Sawaya-Norman, co-ordinator and marketing for the garden, has all of the details.
Sawaya-Norman explains that the garden gives growers a space to test their plants in the Ontario climate to see how they’ll fare.
Once growers are finished collecting information, they leave their plants with the garden.
She continues, saying that they don’t want to throw anything away and want the community to experience the beauty of the plants.
For $20 a potted plant, it also gives them a chance to give back to the community.
Sawaya-Normans says all proceeds from the sale are being split evenly among the Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk Family Resource Centre and Jarvis Community Christian School.
