While Haldimand County has officially opened up their pools, all Norfolk County pools are closed until at least October.
Our local pools will not be opening up this summer with the Delhi Pool closed due to the short time frame it could be opened (it is a seasonal outdoor pool) and the pool in Simcoe not opening until the fall, in part, to allow for repairs during this downtime.
While it has been stated that user groups have been consulted about this choice, that does not appear to be the case.
The Norfolk Hammerheads are advocating on the community to demand that the Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre open up saying that both themselves and the Simcoe Seals were not consulted about this decision.
They are two of the largest users of the pool.
Hammerheads are encouraging the public to contact the county and ask for them to reconsider their options and open up our Simcoe pool.
