A Simcoe man is facing additional child luring charges.
Back in December, eight people were charged with 36 criminal offences during an investigation known as Project Peacehaven.
Among those charged was 36-year-old Jordan Cobb, with five counts of luring a person under 16 and two counts of sending sexually explicit material to a person under 16.
The joint investigation was conducted by the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit and the Peterborough Police Service, addressing concerns over how popular social media applications are used by those looking to sexually abuse children.
Now, Huron County OPP says they have arrested and charged Cobb with new sexual-related offences, following their internet luring investigation.
This February, the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit and the Huron OPP Crime Unit determined that Cobb had engaged in sexually explicit online communications with a 15-year-old victim.
An in-person meet was later arranged where police say the accused proceeded to sexually assault the victim.
Cobb has now been charged with:
Luring a Person Under 16 years of age by means of Telecommunication
Invitation to Sexual Touching – Person Under 16 Years of Age
Sexual Assault
Sexual Interference
He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for tomorrow, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
