Big news out of the Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League with a well known Norfolk County connection.
The CPJHL recently announced the termination of the Muskoka Anglers and Scarborough Wexford Raiders franchises due to ongoing issues with former Norfolk Vikings head coach and general Brian Fish.
In a statement, it says Fish was unwilling to compromise with the league and fellow owners and that the league may have been too lenient on allowing an owner who is “clearly not a team player” to run league franchises.
Furthermore, Fish has been banned for life from the Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League.
The CPJHL added that they will work with all Anglers and Raiders players to find them a suitable team for the remainder of the 2019-20 season.
As reported on back in October of 2015, Fish was banned from the GMHL while coaching the former Norfolk Vikings following a confrontation with coaching staff from an opposing team.
Before the Vikings ultimately folded, they left behind a trail of debt with different groups and Norfolk County.
Most of the debt to the county stemmed from unpaid ice time.
