A big blow to Norfolk’s planning department.
Mat Vaughan, who has been with the county’s planning department since 2014, has put in his notice.
With Vaughan’s departure, that leaves Norfolk County in a bind.
Two other planners are on maternity leave until 2021 which leaves only one part-time planner after Vaughan leaves to carry out the year.
Vaughan has given extended notice which will allow them more time to catch up on items before his departure.
Over the past year, several planners have moved onto different roles within other municipalities.
Tying in closely to this, Sam Bunting from the Haldimand Norfolk Home Builders Association is scheduled to make a deputation tonight (Tuesday) at Town Hall.
Though little is know about his deputation, it is marked down in the agenda as a “Norfolk County Planning and Development Concern.”
Norfolk County officials tell us that they don’t anticipate any delays after Vaughan leaves.
