Constable Ed Sanchuk of the Norfolk County OPP took to social media yesterday evening to pass along some of the details in an ongoing case.
While it may seem like a joke, Sanchuk points out that the teenager is now exposed to the possibility of identity theft after providing personal information for the fake ID.
He explains that they came across an ad online for the fake ID and sent along with money and the “necessary” information but never received the fake identification.
Sanchuk asks parents to speak to their teens about the risk of identity theft, but also, the repercussions of using a fake ID.
He continues, reminding residents to never send personal and identifying information to anyone online reasoning that you never know where that information goes.
