
A 25-year-old Norfolk County man is facing several charges following a collision in Simcoe early Saturday morning.
Police say that they investigated a fail to remain collision in a parking lot.
It was determined that the suspect fled the area following the collision, but subsequently located the vehicle and the driver.
Zachary Ruel has been taken into custody with the following charges; assault of a peace officer, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, mischief and two counts of operating a motor vehicle while impaired.
He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.

The Norfolk County OPP were notified of a romance scam over the weekend by a senior in the community.
Police say that at around 11 p.m. on Friday, they were contacted by a member of the public.
According to police, after meeting on a dating website and establishing an online relationship, several emails were exchanged with details of the suspect’s history and employment status.
Eventually, the unknown male asked if they could send packages to the victim’s residence from the Philippines.
It was then that the victim became concerned and notified the authorities.
The OPP commend the member of the public for coming forward and remind people that knowledge is power.
