The Halloween Storm the wreaked havoc on our lakeside communities is rearing it’s ugly head again.
After a few weeks of recovery and investigations, we are starting to see the full scale of the damage done by the storm especially at the Port Dover Harbour Marina.
Originally, the Marina recorded minor damage to a few boats, their cradles, the lighthouse, and a few docks but further investigation and the use of an underwater diver showed the full extent of the damage.
In a memo from staff, it outlined that the October 31st storm caused significant damage to chains, docks, supports, and anchors at the marina.
A follow-up update on the extent of the damage will be given to council in the future once they receive a report from the insurance adjusters.
