This isn’t something you see every day.
A staff member at the Apple Place was sorting through their Gala apples when they made a unique discovery.
That was Operations Coordinator Lisa Herrewynen.
She said everyone around the Apple Place was pretty impressed to see such a rare find.
Gala Apples are mixed from two-parent apples: the Golden Delicious apple and the Kidd’s Red Orange Apple.
This means it’s common to see a bit more red or green on a given apple but it is unique to have it perfectly split.
The split apple is going to be on display at the Apple Place for the next little while for anything who wants to stop in and take a peek.
