Three Norfolk County residents are facing charges following a drug trafficking investigation by the Haldimand/Norfolk Ontario Provincial Police Community Street Crime Unit.
Police say members of the unit executed a search warrant shortly before 5:30 a.m. on September 1 at a property on Stanley Street in Simcoe.
Officers entered a residence on the property and took three people into custody without incident.
During a search of the residence and the individuals, police seized several items of interest, including suspected fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine and MDMA, also known as ecstasy.
Officers also seized two replica firearms, a weapon, Canadian currency and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
Thirty-two-year-old Gwendolyn Northrup of Norfolk County is facing several alleged offences, including possession of cocaine and an opioid for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000, unauthorized possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Northrup is also charged with two counts of possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose.
She is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on November 24.
Thirty-nine-year-old James Dawley of Norfolk County is facing similar drug and weapons-related charges, including possession of cocaine and an opioid for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Dawley remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.
Fifty-eight-year-old Mark Daniel of Norfolk County is facing charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Daniel also remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.
The charges have not been proven in court.
