Norfolk County’s annual water main flushing program is underway and will continue through November in communities across the County.
The routine maintenance program involves opening hydrants in a controlled manner to increase water flow and help clear the water distribution system, supporting continued water quality.
Residents may notice temporary changes in water pressure while flushing is taking place. Discoloured water is also possible, and the County recommends running a cold water tap until the water clears if that occurs.
The anticipated schedule is:
Simcoe: August 31 to September 25
Waterford: September 28 to October 9
Delhi/Courtland: October 12 to October 23
Rowan/St. Williams: October 19 to October 23
Port Dover: October 26 to November 13
The schedule is weather-dependent and may change based on operational needs.
Residents in affected areas may want to plan for temporary changes while crews carry out the work.
