Norfolk General Hospital is receiving more than $2.6 million in provincial funding to support important infrastructure repairs and upgrades.
The hospital will receive $2,630,205 through Ontario’s Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund for the 2026-27 funding year.
The program helps hospitals repair, replace and modernize aging buildings and essential systems, including structural, mechanical, electrical and safety infrastructure.
At Norfolk General Hospital, the funding will support several priority projects identified through the hospital’s ongoing facility planning.
This includes repairs and upgrades to building systems and other infrastructure that supports patient care and daily hospital operations.
The funding will also support exterior improvements to part of the hospital.
Crews will add waterproofing, insulation and new metal cladding over existing brick, work that is expected to help address leaks and improve heating and cooling.
Hospital officials say much of the infrastructure work may not be immediately visible to patients and families, but is important to keeping the facility operating safely and reliably.
