Norfolk County OPP have charged two people following an early-morning theft investigation in Simcoe.
Police were called to Davis Street East shortly before 6 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, for a reported theft in progress.
Investigators say two people were removing items from a scrap metal and electronic waste donation bin.
Officers found the suspects as they were attempting to leave the area in a vehicle and arrested both without incident.
A 39-year-old Burlington resident has been charged with theft under $5,000 and is scheduled to appear in a Simcoe court on November 17.
A 40-year-old Haldimand County resident has been charged with theft under $5,000 and breaching a conditional sentence order. That person remains in custody ahead of a bail hearing on August 25.
