The Port Dover Kinsmen are bringing live music, family fun and fundraising together for another community concert.
The event will be held at the Kinsmen pavilion near the Port Dover water tower on August 29, running from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m.
The Jesse Murphy Band will open the show, followed by Killin’ Time. People are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and settle in for an afternoon and evening of live music.
Kinsmen Vice President and event chair Tera Hoskins said the setup makes it easy for the whole family to enjoy the day.
The event will also feature drinks and snacks, while the First Port Dover Sea Scouts will sell hot dogs and hamburgers. Money raised through food sales will support the Sea Scouts, while other proceeds will go toward the Kinsmen’s ongoing effort to build a splash pad in Port Dover.
Hoskins said working together fits with what the club is all about.
Kinsmen registrar Connor Murphy said the concerts have also helped fill a gap in Port Dover by giving residents a place to gather and hear live music.
Fundraising for the splash pad continues, with the project planned for the same park area. Murphy hopes candidates in the upcoming municipal election will come out and show their support for the project.
The club is also hoping for strong community support at another concert on October 29th, as it continues working to make the splash pad a reality.
