A Norfolk County resident is facing several charges after two separate shoplifting investigations in Simcoe.
The Norfolk County OPP said officers first responded to a report of shoplifting at a business on Queensway East on Friday, July 24, at about 2:30 p.m. Police allege an individual entered the store, concealed merchandise and left without paying. Officers later located the suspect near Colborne Street South and Court Street, where they were arrested without incident.
A second shoplifting report was received on Monday, July 27, at about 8:10 a.m. from a business on Norfolk Street North. Police allege the same individual again concealed merchandise and left the store without paying. Officers later found the suspect on Norfolk Street South and made another arrest without incident.
As a result of the investigations, 35-year-old Max Holstein of Norfolk County has been charged with two counts of theft under $5,000, shoplifting and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe in October.
