Norfolk County OPP is asking for the public’s help after what police are calling a disturbing case of animal cruelty that left a cat dead.
The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 24, near the intersection of Norfolk County Road 45 and Norfolk County Road 28. Police say a witness reported seeing a cat thrown from a moving white Ford F-150 pickup truck. The animal died from its injuries.
Constable Andrew Gamble called the incident both infuriating and disturbing, reminding residents that anyone in possession of an animal is responsible for its care. He said abandoning an animal by throwing it from a vehicle or leaving it on the roadside is never acceptable.
Norfolk OPP is asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to contact police at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips can also be provided through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
