Residents will have more time to review proposed changes to the Brantford-Brant municipal boundary after both municipalities postponed upcoming public meetings on the Airport Boundary Adjustment.
The City of Brantford and the County of Brant say statutory public meetings originally scheduled for July 27 and July 29 have been rescheduled.
Brantford’s meeting will now be held on Monday, Aug. 10, while the County of Brant’s meeting will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 12. Both meetings will begin at 6 p.m. in their respective council chambers.
The municipalities say the decision was made jointly to give residents and affected landowners more time to review the updated Airport Boundary Adjustment map released last week and to allow staff to continue finalizing a draft restructuring agreement.
Officials say the agreement is being developed to reflect the goals of both municipalities while addressing feedback received during the public consultation process.
The draft agreement will be released before the rescheduled meetings to give residents time to review it in advance.
Updated meeting details, including participation information and access to the draft agreement, will be shared before the new meeting dates.
