The Ontario Provincial Police are continuing to investigate a fatal dirt bike collision that occurred in Silver Hill earlier this week. Emergency crews, including Norfolk County OPP, Norfolk County Paramedic Services and the Norfolk County Fire Department, responded to Forestry Farm Road at approximately 10:55 p.m. on Monday (June 8).
Investigators say the dirt bike was travelling along the roadway when it left the road and struck a road sign. The 35-year-old Norfolk County rider was airlifted to a trauma centre in critical condition but later died from their injuries. Forestry Farm Road, between 10th Concession Road and Silver Hill Sideroad, was closed for several hours while police examined the scene before reopening.
The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team is assisting with the investigation. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage or other information to contact the Norfolk County OPP 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) anonymously.
