One person is facing charges following an assault investigation in Turkey Point earlier this month.
Norfolk County OPP responded to a report of an assault at a business on Cedar Drive on Friday, June 5, 2026, at approximately 3:48 p.m. According to investigators, an individual attended the business and became involved in an interaction with an employee that escalated into an assault. The employee sustained minor injuries.
Police say the suspect fled the area on foot following the incident but was located nearby by officers and taken into custody without further incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old from Brantford has been charged with assault and resist peace officer. The accused, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.
Police remind the public that all allegations are before the courts and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
The Norfolk County Detachment of the OPP continues to investigate and encourages anyone with additional information to come forward.
