Looking at the forecast, this Friday should be nice and warm – the perfect day to hit the beach.
That is exactly what many students across Norfolk County plan on doing.
That was Constable Andrew Gamble.
He says while teens are out having fun, police will be around to make sure that the fun stays safe and legal.
Last year, we talked to students out on the beach on Beach Day.
The common thing we heard was it was more than just a day out of class, it’s about carrying the torch.
For some, it is one of those days that even has a family connection.
Students also talked about Beach Day as something special.
Officers will be focusing on behaviours that put people at risk, including:
- Underage drinking
- Impaired driving and boating
- Trespassing
- Property damage
- Disorderly conduct
- Any other unlawful or unsafe activity
Violations under the Highway Traffic Act, Liquor Licence and Control Act, Cannabis Control Act, Trespass to Property Act, Criminal Code, and the Canada Shipping Act will be strictly enforced.
