The Norfolk Music Hall of Fame is continuing to celebrate the region’s rich musical history with the announcement of its 2026 inductees and a public reception planned in Simcoe next week.
Hall of Fame president Les Anderson said the organization is still searching for a permanent home where it can display memorabilia, photos, and artifacts connected to Norfolk County’s music scene.
Despite only being in its second year, Anderson said the Hall of Fame has already uncovered a deep well of musical talent and history across the county. Anderson said many people from Norfolk County have contributed greatly to the music industry, and the organization is thrilled with this year’s inductees.
Tia McGraff is an internationally renowned, award-winning singer-songwriter and author. Anderson commented that McGraff has been performing for a long time alongside her partner, Tommy.
Ian Bell is a former curator at the Port Dover Museum and has performed across North America since the late 1970s. Anderson, noted Bell’s broad range of musical experience.
Finally, Rory Dodd is a Canadian rock vocalist who Norfolk Today previously had the pleasure of speaking with. Dodd is best known for singing the duet vocals on Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart”.
Anderson added that all three inductees are different in their own ways, but are very well known and highly deserving.
The Hall of Fame will host a free public reception on Thursday, June 4th, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Simcoe. The formal induction ceremony is expected to take place Nov 5th. Music for the evening will be provided by Accoustic Diesel Dog Trio and refreshments will also be available for those that attend.
Anderson said the event is a chance for residents and music lovers to meet the inductees and learn more about Norfolk’s musical roots.
