Two youths are facing charges following an assault investigation near the Norfolk County and Oxford County border.
Members of the Ontario Provincial Police say officers responded to a reported assault at a business on Simcoe Street on Saturday at approximately 8:32 p.m.
Police say the investigation determined an interaction occurred between a group of youths and a store employee at the business. During the incident, one of the youths allegedly assaulted the employee. No injuries were reported.
Investigators say the suspects fled the area in a pickup truck but were later located and taken into custody at another location in Norfolk County.
As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old Norfolk County resident has been charged with mischief for obstructing, interrupting, or interfering with the lawful use or enjoyment of property, as well as dangerous operation.
A second 17-year-old from Norfolk County has been charged with mischief and assault.
Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identities of the accused cannot be released.
Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.
