Norfolk County is clearing the air after misinformation spread online about a recent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigation in Simcoe involving a long-term care facility.
In a public statement, the County confirmed the man charged in the case has never been an employee of Norview Lodge. Officials also emphasized the incident did not occur at the Simcoe facility and that Norview Lodge is not involved in the matter.
The clarification comes after unverified claims circulated on social media, causing concern among residents, families, and staff.
Norfolk County says protecting the safety and well-being of those who live and work at Norview Lodge remains a top priority. The public is being urged to rely on official sources and avoid sharing misinformation.
