Residents in Norfolk County will have an opportunity this weekend to safely dispose of household hazardous waste during a scheduled collection event in Delhi.
The event will take place Saturday, May 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Delhi Roads Central Yard located at 340 Argyle Avenue.
Officials say the drop-off is designed to help residents properly dispose of materials such as propane tanks, fertilizers, chemicals, paints and expired medications that should not go into regular waste streams.
The County says proper disposal helps protect local water systems, landfills and public safety by preventing hazardous materials from entering the environment.
Appointments are required, and residents must register in advance before attending the event.
