Norfolk County OPP are continuing to investigate a fatal collision that claimed the life of a Norfolk County resident Friday afternoon.
Emergency crews, including Norfolk OPP, Norfolk County Paramedic Services, and the Norfolk County Fire Department, responded to Highway 24 just outside Simcoe shortly after 3:00 p.m. on May 8.
Police say the collision involved two SUVs, a cargo van, and a transport truck.
As a result of the crash, the 64-year-old driver of the cargo van suffered critical injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of one of the SUVs was transported to hospital with minor injuries, while the remaining drivers were not hurt.
The collision forced the closure of Highway 24 between Windham Road 12 and Thirteenth Street West, along with a section of Concession 13 Townsend between Highway 24 and Cloet Road, for several hours while investigators examined the scene.
The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team is assisting with the investigation.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dash cam footage from the area to contact Norfolk County OPP.
