Principal and coach Alison High, with the Valley Heights Secondary School cheer team
The gym was packed with energy, loud cheers, and school spirit Wednesday night as the third annual Norfolk Invitational Cheerleading Competition returned to Waterford District High School.
Teams from across the region took to the floor in front of a lively crowd, showcasing high-flying stunts, synchronized routines, and plenty of enthusiasm during the growing local event.
When the final scores were announced, the hometown Waterford District High School Wolves captured first place honours. The Delhi District Secondary School Raiders earned second place, followed by the Simcoe Composite School Sabres in third and the Valley Heights Secondary School Bears in fourth.
The invitational, first launched in 2023, continues to grow as a celebration of local school sports, giving cheerleaders a chance to perform in front of a live audience while highlighting the teamwork, athleticism, and dedication involved in competitive cheer.
